For more than a decade, GBCHealth has been presenting the Business Action on Health Awards to companies that exemplify a spirit of innovation and help set the agenda for addressing today’s most important global health challenges. The awards represent a key opportunity to recognize success and best practices, while providing powerful examples that inspire others to redouble their own efforts.
Business Action on Health Awards
Among the most coveted honors in the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) arena, the Business Action on Health awards owe their prestige in part to the rigorous evaluation procedure undertaken by our panel of internationally-respected judges—a rotating group of experts drawn from across the private, non-profit, multilateral and governmental sectors.

Business Leadership Awards
A former US diplomat, statesman and UN Ambassador, Richard Holbrooke led GBCHealth from its inception in 2001 to 2008. He was a passionate advocate for the power of business to create a healthier world. Since Ambassador Holbrooke’s passing in 2010, GBCHealth continues to honor his indefatigable spirit with a prestigious award. Bestowed annually, the Richard C. Holbrooke Business Leadership Award is given to a business leader or company whose global health contributions have had an enormous impact, saving lives around the world. Importantly, awardees exemplify Ambassador Holbrooke’s spirit of service and commitment. In addition to the Holbrooke Award, GBCHealth presents Vision and Impact Awards to inspiring and influential individuals who demonstrates foresight and action in improving the health of their country, and by extension, the world, and improving the lives of others. Finally, “every day ambassadors” who work tirelessly to deliver health services and support to people in his or her community are recognized by the GBCHealth Frontline Hero Award.
“We are so thrilled about this wonderful recognition… [it] really shows the phenomenal impact of technology on our lives – as well as the power of true partnerships.’”

“We are thrilled to have won the GBCHealth Award…. What is especially pleasing is GBCHealth’s acknowledgement of the development benefits achieved by local manufacture [of bed nets in Africa].”
