Aisha Taylor supports GBCHealth’s role as Focal Point for the Private Sector Delegation (PSD) to the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria, through managing PSD communications, global convenings, activities and operations. She serves as a primary liaison between the Private Sector Delegation and the Global Fund. In addition, Aisha manages several accounts in the media and technology industries, and has supported partnership development initiatives between member companies. Aisha serves as the GBCHealth representative to the UNFPA “Inter-agency Task Team on HIV and Young People” – a working group that aims to synchronize and elevate global HIV prevention strategies targeted at youth.
Prior to joining GBCHealth, Aisha spent time working with orphans and vulnerable children in Costa Rica and Mexico. She also held a position in event planning and community relations for the Black Historical & Cultural Society in Vancouver, Canada. Aisha holds a BA in International Relations from the University of British Columbia (UBC).
Andrey Bikir was graduated from “Steel and Alloy” High School, where he also finished post-graduate course. Prior working in TPAA Andrey worked in commercial structures in positions of financial analytic and accountant. Andrey was raising the level of his skill in the Institute of Professional Accountants and Auditors of Russia where he is a full member.
Anna Fedoryak is an Associate, Communications and External Affairs, and Informational Resources Coordinator. Anna is responsible for the content and development of the resource www.stopspid.ru. She also coordinates development and implementation of SMS campaigns, and printed informational materials for the StopSPID campaign. Anna also works closely with journalists and editors on content development for publications, television and radio projects as well as campaign events.
Anna graduated from Peoples Friendship University of Russia, Department of History (with honours). After graduation she worked as interpreter and translator for Spanish agency of international adoptions and as news editor and journalist for leading Russian on-line editions. Anna speaks English and Spanish.
Anna Feng provides the Regional Director with general program and administrative support. In this capacity, Anna coordinates the China office's communications, member servicing and interfaces with GBCHealth's other regional offices and New York headquarters.
Anna joined GBCHealth in March 2009, bringing rich experience in marketing research. Prior to joining GBCHealth, Anna was the project coordinator for Century JinQin Marketing Research Company in Beijing, where she was responsible for implementing surveys on public issues.
Anna holds a B.A. in public administration from Renmin University of China.
As Policy Director and Focal Point for the Private Sector Delegation at GBCHealth, Anna Thompson-Quaye ensures effective engagement and representation of the private sector at Board Meetings and on Global Fund Committees. She works closely with Private Sector Boards, Alternate Board Members, Board delegations and the Global Fund Secretariat to advance policy and other board level work. At GBCHealth, Anna led GBCHealth's malaria programs and the Corporate Alliance on Malaria in Africa (CAMA) as part of the organization's stepped-up effort to enhance business action on malaria.
Prior to joining GBCHealth, Anna worked for the Research Triangle Institute International in Washington, D.C., where she managed the implementation of malaria prevention programs in Ghana, Rwanda and Senegal under the U.S. President's Malaria Initiative.
She combines substantive expertise in malaria control and HIV/AIDS with a well-developed client focus and keen interest in the role the private sector plays in promoting socio-economic development and improved health. In her previous position with Emerging Market Group's HealthCare Practice Unit (formerly a unit of Deloitte), Anna managed and provided technical assistance for Global Fund, PEPFAR and USAID-funded projects. She has also worked with several major multilateral organizations, including both the World Health Organization and the Pan American Health Organization working on health service provision, and health and economic development. Anna has additional international experience working in Armenia, Ghana, Madagascar, Mozambique, Rwanda, Senegal, Tanzania and Uganda.
A Ghanaian national, Anna earned her B.A. in International Business from Thiel College and her master's degree in Law and Diplomacy from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University, with a focus on International Health Policy and Development Economics.
As GBCHealth's Manager of Membership, Beth Breslauer enhances GBCHealth's membership network by working closely with member companies to develop a customized approach to address global health. She services existing members and engages new companies, particularly those in the media, technology, travel industries, as well as numerous well-known consumer brand companies.
Prior to joining GBCHealth, Beth was a VP, Development at the Advertising Council where she secured funding from corporate donors in the Media and Technology industries. In addition to raising funds to cover operating costs, Beth raised money to launch the Internet Safety Coalition, a program designed to educate children and teens about online safety.
Before moving into the non-profit sector, Beth was a Sales Development Director at AOL where she led the development and execution of advertising solutions and sales strategies for websites serving AOL's female audience. In addition, Beth worked with sales to formulate online marketing strategies for top clients in the Northeast region.
Prior to AOL, Beth worked in various business and ad sales development roles at DoubleClick where she secured online ad sales representation contracts with websites, managed site relationships and developed sales strategies for sites within the Entertainment and Youth ad network.
Beth's early career was spent as a media planner at several general advertising and direct marketing agencies in Boston and New York including OgilvyOne and Digitas. In addition, she developed her own business as an independent artist's representative, securing assignment work for commercial photographers and illustrators. Beth earned her BA in Communications from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst.
Brian Leamy serves as GBCHealth’s Vice President of Membership, Development and Impact Initiatives. In this capacity, he is responsible for maximizing member participation, as well as optimizing the value recognized through membership. Additionally, Brian manages all fundraising activities and the initiatives and projects associated with member and partner investments.
Prior to GBCHealth, Brian was the Executive Vice President of mGive, where he provided the strategic direction and oversaw the day-to-day operations of the organization. He has also served as the Executive Vice President for TRUiST, the leading provider of solutions for online employee giving campaigns and volunteerism, where he oversaw sales, marketing and channel partnerships. He was also the Vice President of Enterprise Strategy for United Way Worldwide, where he played an instrumental role in the creation of a global technology solutions provider, United eWay.
Additionally, Brian spent eight years in professional services as a management consultant with Deloitte Consulting. Brian holds an MBA from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania. He attended the Stevens Institute of Technology, where he attained an MS in Strategic Management and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Information Systems. He also holds an executive certificate from Georgetown University in International Business Management.
David Alport heads global communications for GBCHealth. He is responsible for marketing communications, stakeholder relations, publications, digital media, interactive communications and events. As the organization prepared to celebrate its 10th anniversary in June 2011, David guided the organization’s communications efforts to embrace an evolving mandate on global health and to embolden its roster of engaged companies and partners.
Prior to joining GBCHealth, David ran a boutique strategic consulting firm, focused primarily on the travel and tourism sector. From 1992 to 2002, David created and ran Out & About, a publishing company that produced a monthly newsletter, guidebooks and website for gay and lesbian travelers. Prior to Out & About, David worked in marketing at American Express, focused on strategic partnerships.
David is a graduate of Brown University, with a BA in Psychology. He loves to travel and is thrilled to call New York City home when not on the road. David currently serves on the board of the Housing Works Thrift Shops in New York City.
Dennis Mutuma is the HIV Free Generation Kenya (HFG/K) Project Coordinator in the GBCHealth East and Central Africa office in Nairobi, Kenya, where he provides support to the GBCHealth staff in Nairobi as well as those in New York. He also provides support to the PPP Technical Advisor to HFG/K - G-Pange project on the design and implementation of Public, Private Partnerships (PPPs programs.) Prior to assuming the position of the HFG Project Coordinator, he was the office Admin and coordinated the day to day running of the office. Dennis also coordinated communication between the Coalition members in the East and Central Africa Region with the GBCHealth HQ and updated all the member companies on all the progress, interventions and developments of Global policies and programmatic support aimed at improving the design and implementation of their HIV/AIDS, TB and malaria programs. Dennis also offers IT Admin and Support to the GBCHealth Nairobi office.
Before joining GBCHealth in 2007, Dennis served as the IT Administrator at Exodus Electronic Enterprises and later as Programme Coordinator for International Development Center for Africa (IDCA).
Dennis obtained a Higher Diploma in Computer Engineering & Mathematics in 2006 and currently pursuing a degree in Computer Information Systems at Kenya Methodist University (Kemu) University and another degree in Project Management & Communication at Africa Nazarene University in Kenya.
Edward Mwaura Karanja serves as Project Accountant for the GBCHealth Kenya office in Nairobi. He has wide experience on donor-funded projects like USAID, Global Fund, EU and other international country based NGOs. Edward provides support on accounting and financial management, program and donor reporting, financial reporting, budgeting and reconciliations. Edward also plays part in the program activities implementation for GBCHealth Kenya.
Edward joined GBCHealth Kenya in November 2010 as an accountant in the Nairobi office to undertake the HIV-Free Generation project. Prior to joining GBCHealth, Edward served as an Accounts Assistant for the Kenya Network of Women with AIDS (KENWA) for three years and a Finance Officer for the German Foundation for World Population (DSW) for one month, working with the grass-root communities in the fight against HIV/AIDS, community mobilization and support of Orphans and Vulnerable children.
Edward is a qualified Certified Public Accountant in Kenya – CPA (K) currently undertaking his postgraduate studies in Masters of Business Administration in Financial Management at the Catholic University of Eastern Africa (CUEA).
Elizabeth Sorensen leads Human Resources for GBCHealth. In this role, she manages staffing, compensation and benefits, organizational effectiveness, training and development and employee relations.
Prior to joining GBCHealth, Elizabeth spent 8 years at Pfizer, with her final assignment as Head of Human Resources at Pfizer's Research and Development Lab in Groton, Connecticut. During her time at Pfizer, Elizabeth spent 5 months as a Pfizer Global Health Fellow in GBCHealth’s (then TPAA’s) Moscow office, where she guided a business planning process, developed and implemented a Performance Management Process and provided training and development sessions for Moscow and Kyiv staff members. Shortly after her return from that assignment, Elizabeth retired from Pfizer and began consulting with GBCHealth, which led to her joining the organization in January, 2008.
In addition, Elizabeth spent 28 years with Aetna, Inc., in Hartford, Connecticut, in various positions including Head of Staffing for Aetna’s Financial Division, Head of HR for Small Business and Specialty Products Division, and HR Lead for Aetna's 15,000-person Member Services Group. She is a graduate of Trinity College, Hartford and the Executive HR Program at University of Michigan.
As Communications Manager, Eve Heyn helps lead and support communications for GBCHealth, including digital, print and marketing communications, social media, long-term strategy and media relations.
Prior to GBCHealth, Eve was a communications consultant to leading global health companies, non-profits and foundations. Select projects included the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Drugs for Neglected Diseases initiative (DNDi), the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, the international communications firms Global Health Strategies, Edelman and Burness Communications and the health companies GlaxoSmithKline, AstraZeneca and Johnson & Johnson. Topics ranged from malaria and infectious and neglected diseases to vaccines, drug development, women and children’s health and public-private partnerships.
A former journalist, Eve has more than 15 years experience as a reporter at leading newspapers and magazines, including Gannett and People magazine. She earned her MS at the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism and her BA from New York University, where she has taught in the journalism department as an adjunct professor for a decade.
Francis Njangiru is the technical services manager in the GBC East and Central Africa office in Nairobi, Kenya, where he provides Coalition members with policy and programmatic support aimed at improving the design and implementation of their HIV/AIDS, TB and malaria programs.
Francis brings to GBC more than 20 years of experience in community development, project management and HIV/AIDS programming in both the public and private sectors. In addition to practical experience, he also received training from the University of California in HIV program management.
Before joining GBC in 2008, Francis served as the director of training at the Amani Counseling and Training Institute, and later as the executive director of the Kenya HIV Private Sector Business Council. Francis obtained a master's degree in counseling psychology from Durham University in the United Kingdom and holds post graduate diplomas in counseling and social work.
As Communications Coordinator at GBCHealth, Helen works on the organization’s publications, events and website. She manages the Expert Connections Teleconference program for GBCHealth membership and led the repurposing and redesign of the GBCHealth website.
Prior to joining GBCHealth, she was a Director and Field Manager for Grassroots Campaigns Political Action Committee during the 2008 elections, and a Consultant for Halmstad University in Sweden. Helen holds a B.A.in Health and Societies from the University of Pennsylvania, and studied Politics at Oxford University.
Ilze Melngailis leads GBCHealth's efforts to devise and deliver "Impact Initiatives" through global teams of member companies and strategic partners. These teams comprise a mix of multiple private-sector players together with appropriate NGO, government, and local partners focused on a clear, high-impact objective. The Impact Initiatives program was created at the behest of members, who believe that cross-functional, multiple partner collaborative programs are critical to evolving business action to a higher, results-intensive level.
Committed to applying business approaches to international development, Ilze's career has focused on improving public health through social marketing and public private partnerships. Most recently, she led GBCHealth's Corporate Strategies and Member Services department, overseeing membership engagement with our services and programs at the headquarters and regional levels.
Prior to joining GBCHealth, Ilze was Senior Technical Advisor of Marketing and Promotion for the USAID-funded ACQUIRE Project at EngenderHealth in New York. In this position, she directed the behavior change component of ACQUIRE and led the project's social marketing technical work. That work helped to improve access to family planning and reproductive health services in nine countries in Africa, Asia and Latin America.
Prior to that role, she worked for the International Planned Parenthood Federation's headquarters in London and in New York (for Latin America), brokering partnerships with pharmaceutical companies, developing business and sustainability plans for NGOs and health care clinics, and developing private label contraceptive social marketing brands and communications campaigns. She also led the International Consortium for Emergency Contraception for two years and is the founder and first Executive Director of Latvia's Association for Family Planning and Sexual Health.
Ilze has worked in or with over 31 countries throughout her career, has basic proficiency in Spanish and French, and is fluent in Latvian. She has an MBA from Yale University, specializing in competitive strategy and marketing, and a BA in Psychology from McGill University in Montreal.
Ivan Ivanov is responsible for development, production and placement of new materials within the StopAIDS and StopTB campaigns. He provides regular communication with current and potential RMP media partners and experts. He also takes part in development and implementation of special projects and actions.
Ivan graduated from Russian New University, faculty of pedagogy and psychology. In 2005 he founded and, for three years, managed the youth nonprofit organization that developed and implemented youth social integration projects and programs. In 2010 Ivan completed an academic course in «Management of social projects» at the Higher School of Economics. Prior to joining the organisation Ivan worked at a secondary school. Ivan speaks English and German.
Jason Alan Vega serves as support staff for the Human Resources and Finance departments. In this role he coordinates activities between GBCHealth Headquarters and Regional offices on matters related to HR and Finance. Prior to joining GBCHealth, Jason worked in the Development Department at the Empire State Pride Agenda.
Jason earned his Bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
As the Operations Manager, Jerry oversees the daily logistics for the New York headquarters, coordinating efforts with regional offices in Beijing, Nairobi, Moscow and Johannesburg. His diverse responsibilities include operations, purchasing and procurement, logistics, space, security, and I/T. Prior to joining GBCHealth, Jerry handled the operations and administrative side of Global Strategy Group, a boutique market research firm in New York.
Jerry earned his Bachelor's of Business Administration at Northwood University in Michigan, majoring in Management, with a minor in Entrepreneurship.
As the Vice President of Strategy and Regional Affairs, Jimmy Lee leads strategy development and planning for the organization, and manages the efforts of GBCHealth's regional offices in Johannesburg, Beijing, Nairobi and Moscow.
Jimmy leads GBCHealth's planning and decision-making processes, focusing on the creation and execution of high-impact strategies. One of his highest priorities is the elimination of any gaps between GBCHealth's goals and outcomes. In his role heading GBCHealth's regional offices, he coordinates the organization's global efforts, building the capacity of each office to deliver life-saving results, and leading initiatives in new regions. Jimmy also works closely with the Executive Office in the development and management of the Board of Directors and partnerships with key government agencies.
Before joining GBCHealth in 2006, Jimmy was a Director of Strategic Planning & Business Analysis at GBCHealth member American Express. In this capacity, he led the business case development for new products and advised company executives on long-term strategy.
Prior to his employment at American Express, he was a Director at World Vision's New York office, where he led strategic planning, directed the Hope HIV/AIDS initiative, and managed the organization's response to the September 11th tragedies.
Jimmy was also a Senior Associate in J.P. Morgan's investment banking division. In this role he structured, negotiated, and executed mergers, acquisitions, divestitures and financings for media companies. He started his career as a Financial Analyst at GBCHealth member Goldman, Sachs & Company.
Jimmy earned his B.A. in Sociology from Cornell University and a M.B.A. from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
John Tedstrom is President and CEO of GBCHealth. John joined GBCHealth in August, 2006, and since that time has steadily expanded the organization’s reach, deepened relationships with key partners and initiated important organizational reforms to make operations more cost-effective and programs more impactful.
Since John took over as Executive Director of GBCHealth in August 2006, membership has continued to grow and now includes more than 230 companies and organizations across the globe. John also led the organization’s growth from an exclusive focus on HIV/AIDS to an agenda that included strong programs on tuberculosis and malaria beginning in 2007. Under John’s leadership, the organization unveiled a broader public health mandate in June 2011.
John has also led the expansion of GBCHealth's geographical reach through a merger with Transatlantic Partners Against AIDS (TPAA), an organization he founded and led prior to joining GBCHealth. TPAA operated in Russia and Ukraine, two countries at significant risk for HIV/AIDS and tuberculosis. TPAA developed several highly effective programs that continue today. One of the major programs, the Russian Media Partnership (RMP), reached millions with information about HIV/AIDS and has a high success rate in spurring people to take action to know their status and protect themselves.The Russian Parliamentary Working Group on HIV/AIDS advances policy reforms relevant to public health.
John served as director for Russia, Ukraine, and Eurasian Affairs for the U.S. National Security Council from 1999-2000, where he provided policy advice and strategic planning for President Bill Clinton. He also managed inter-agency coordination on priority foreign policy issues in the region, with a focus on commercial, economic, and social policy toward the Newly Independent States.
John worked for nearly a decade at the RAND Corporation as economist and senior economist. In those positions, he focused on the intersection among economics, development, and international security and he led the policy analysis work of the first presidentially-mandated National Defense Panel.
John held the Jacyk Chair at Columbia University's School of International and Public Affairs in 2000-2001.
Julie Muthoni Cege serves as program manager for GBCHealth's East and Central Africa office in Nairobi. Julie supports expanded and coordinated business action to fight disease through innovative strategies and partnerships with NGOs, international agencies and governments. Julie also facilitates the policy and advocacy programs for GBCHealth East and Central Africa.
Julie joined GBCHealth in June 2007 as the second employee in the Coalition's then-new Nairobi office. Prior to joining GBCHealth, Julie served as a project manager for Credit Reference Bureau Africa Limited, a credit risk management organisation servicing major banks and multi-national and indigenous commercial enterprises.
Julie holds a bachelor's degree in business administration with concentrations in finance and management.
Laura comes to GBCHealth as a Relationship Manager with a strong private sector background and deep client relationship experience. Laura held a variety of strategic marketing and business development positions: at American Express, including Director of Global Product and Channel Strategy in Global Corporate Services and Director of Customer Experience in OPEN for Small Business; and also with J.P. Morgan’s Community Relations & Philanthropic Services division.
With a track record of serving clients to help them reach their objectives, Laura turned her focus to the international development sector, serving as Deputy Topic Leader of the Women and Girls program for the 2010 Clinton Global Initiative, and consulting with nonprofit clients, including global microfinance organization Women’s World Banking and the NGO Orphan Support Africa.
Laura began her professional career in Paris. She was Marketing Director at Agence Eurotexte (now Lexcelera), serving such clients as the OECD and the French government. She also held roles at the World Gold Council and Laboratoire Gamida, and founded her own translation business. Laura received her MBA from Columbia University with a concentration in International Business and a B.A. in English from Wesleyan University, and also studied at the Université de Strasbourg in France. Laura manages GBCHealth’s portfolio of European members as well as financial services companies. She is fluent in French, and has knowledge of Italian, Spanish, and German.
As GBCHealth's Officer of Membership, Lauren Sachs enhances GBCHealth's membership network by working closely with member companies to help set priorities and strategies in their global health work. Working closely with GBCHealth's Member Relations managers, she supports the servicing of existing members and engagement of prospective members.
Lauren additionally works as internal liaison for the Member Relations department with the Communications and External Affairs team, GBCHealth's regional offices and the managers of GBCHealth's organizational members. She also manages all sponsorship opportunities around GBCHealth's Annual Conference and Business Excellence Awards Dinner.
Prior to joining GBCHealth, Lauren was part of the corporate relations and institutional development team at the Global Health Council in Washington, D.C. In this capacity, Lauren was able to build in-depth knowledge of government, academic, NGO and private sector capabilities to combat these diseases, as well as provide private sector members with advisory services on business process improvement, corporate strategy and policy advocacy.
Before deciding to focus on global health and moving into the non-profit sector, Lauren lived in Japan, working as an English teacher with the Japan Exchange and Teaching Program. She later returned to Washington, D.C. to help run the same program from the Japanese Embassy.
Lauren holds a BA in Psychology and Sociology from Tulane University. While in New Orleans, she worked with a community organization that offers legal services to HIV/AIDS-affected residents. Her interest in international affairs and global health has taken her to more than 20 countries. Lauren is conversational in French and Japanese.
As the CRM / Database Administrator, Matt is responsible for maintaining, enhancing and integrating GBC's relationship, resource and knowledge management systems.
Prior to joining GBC, Matt spent one year consulting for a large number of firms in the financial services industry as a CRM Application Engineer at AppCrown, LLC. Prior to working for AppCrown, he held several progressive positions over three years at Hugo Dunhill (a direct marketing firm) where he focused his efforts on creating efficiencies through CRM/ERP solutions.
Matt graduated with a Bachelor's of Business Administration from Berkeley College; majoring in Marketing.
Michael Schreiber is GBCHealth's Managing Director. He focuses on developing new contributions and increased innovation in corporate engagement in global health. His charge includes attracting additional companies to the fight, and defining cross-sector collaboration and partnership opportunities. Michael also leads outreach to governments, multi-lateral organizations, foundations and individuals who want to advance GBCHealth’s role as a hub of collaboration and collective action.
Previously, Michael was founder and president of TRUiST, a pioneering social enterprise which built a proprietary technology platform that processed over $1 Billion annually in Fortune 500 employee volunteer and donations. Prior to creating TRUiST, Michael served as Executive Vice President & CIO at United Way World Wide.
Michael's background also includes extensive, practical, front-line experience on social and economic development in emerging markets-with corporations, civil society and governments. In senior positions at Deloitte Consulting, he worked with both government agencies and corporations in the United States, Namibia, South Africa and other African nations. Earlier in his career, he served at the U.S. Embassy in The Gambia, overseeing operational functions and drafting the annual Human Rights Report.
Michael has a degree in Economics from Stanford University and an MBA from Duke University's Fuqua School of Business.
Michael Shiu comes to GBCHealth from a lengthy career in the business sector with over 25 years of professional experience in financial services, manufacturing and real estate industries.
Prior to joining GBCHealth, Michael was the general manager of TZG Partners, a private equity fund specializing in real estate, hospitality and leisure industries. Previously, Michael was the country president for Fedders China, where he ran the operations of five manufacturing plants located in Shnghai, Ningbo, Quanzhou, Suzhou, and Xian. Prior to Fedders, Michael was the senior vice president of Golden City Commercial Bank in New York, a financial institution that focused on serving the Chinese community in New York City.
Michael was the Far East Controller for Atari Inc in the early 1980s and prior to that Michael was an auditor for PricewaterhouseCoopers where he became a CPA. Michael received his MBA from Stanford Business School in 1976 and BS in engineering from University of Hawaii in 1974.
As the Associate for GBCHealth's Communications department, Michele White supports the development and maintenance of the Coalition's growing collection of tools and publications, including the GBCHealth website, supporting efforts to improve the global reach of GBCHealth and serves as the department's intern coordinator. She is also GBCHealth's Social Media manager, developing and leading implementation of strategies and actions to highlight GBCHealth (and its members') work and contributions.
Michele also coordinates GBCHealth's annual conference and awards dinner, one of the Coalition's primary fundraising vehicles and an occasion to bring global attention to the role business is playing in the fight against HIV/AIDS, TB, malaria, and other global health challenges.
Michele graduated with a B.A. in International Relations and a minor in Biology from American University. Michele comes to GBCHealth with a firm understanding of global public health issues and extensive experience abroad. She has studied public health and health policy at both the University of Cape Town and the Institut d'études politiques de Lille.
Natalya Podogova leads the Coalition's work in Russia and the Commonwealth of Independent States. As Vice President and Regional Director, Natalya leads office’s advocacy efforts aimed at positive policy change in the region. She supports business, media and policy networks advocating for healthier life styles, including the Business for a Healthy Society National Association. She also facilitates the workplace health training program HEALTH@WORK and oversees several informational and analytical web resources.
After graduating from Penza State Pedagogical University, Natalya worked for several commercial projects and companies in wholesale trade and the oil and gas sector. She began her career as a personal assistant, working her way up to the position of deputy commercial manager and eventually running her own business. Natalya holds an MBA from Moscow Lomonosov State University Higher School of Business.
As Director of GBCHealth Kenya, Neeta is based in Nairobi, Kenya where she facilitates partnerships with national business coalitions, supports multinational and local company engagement on global health issues, and further solidifies GBC's African field operations. She joined GBCHealth in 2008, and served as Senior Manager of Membership, where she was responsible for development of the overall membership strategy, including retention, recruiting, and internal process improvement. In addition, she enhanced GBCHealth's membership network by working closely with member companies to develop a customized approach to addressing global health. In this role, she serviced existing members and engaged new companies, particularly those in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, healthcare and consulting industries.
Prior to joining GBCHealth, Neeta consulted for a variety of clients in the life sciences and healthcare industries at Deloitte Consulting, including large and mid-tier pharmaceutical companies and non-profit/for-profit health plans, on strategic and operational issues. In this capacity, Neeta was able to build in-depth knowledge of the healthcare and life sciences sectors, providing advisory services on business process improvement, efficiency, corporate strategy, and enterprise structure/governance.
In addition, Neeta has experience working in health systems financing with the World Health Organization, where she supported the National Health Accounts team in compiling and analyzing member country health expenditure data. Neeta has also worked in healthcare finance, serving as a business analyst at AmeriChoice of New York, a subsidiary company of United Health Group. Her various work experience in consulting, public health, and healthcare finance has enhanced her knowledge of the private sector as well as public health issues, inspiring her to pursue a career focused on building successful public-private partnerships in response to global pandemics.
Neeta holds a BA in Biology and Economics from the University of Virginia, and an MPH from Columbia University, with a concentration in healthcare policy and management.
As Vice President, Membership and Advisory Services, Pam Bolton leads GBCHealth's efforts to disseminate expertise, stimulate innovation and boost performance in the corporate response to global health issues. She oversees expert advisory services and the development of GBCHealth tools and resources for member companies.
Pam Bolton comes to GBCHealth with an extensive background in global public health, including programmatic and technical expertise in reproductive health, HIV/AIDS and malaria, as well as a solid understanding of private sector perspectives.
Pam previously served as Director for Francophone Africa at Family Care International, an NGO dedicated to improving sexual and reproductive health and rights globally, with an integral focus on HIV/AIDS prevention, treatment and care. During her seven years there, she expanded the program from a fledgling start-up to a dynamic enterprise with three country offices and 25 employees. Prior to her work at Family Care International, Pam spent eight years at EngenderHealth, where she held both direct program management responsibilities and technical advisory positions focused on research and evaluation.
Pam gained greater appreciation for the interplay between public health, corporate citizenship and core business interests while working in Pfizer's Worldwide Public Affairs & Policy division, where she contributed to the design and development of Mobilize Against Malaria, Pfizer's five-year program to fight malaria in Kenya, Ghana and Senegal. Most recently, she was a member of the consulting team at Strategyx/inVentiv Health, a specialty practice providing evidence-based guidance to pharmaceutical and biotechnology executives in the areas of marketing strategy and organizational design.
Pam holds a Master of Business Administration from the Zicklin School of Business at Baruch College in New York, where she founded the Baruch chapter of Net Impact and was president of the Sustainable Business club. She also holds a Master of Health Science in Maternal & Child Health from Johns Hopkins University and Bachelor of Arts from Wesleyan University.
Pam Shepard leads the team responsible for all Finance, Legal, Operations, Information Technology, Knowledge Management, and Human Resources at GBCHealth. She also plays a key role in strategy and planning, as well as Boardof Directors interface.
Prior to joining GBCHealth in January 2004, Pam was the Chief Financial Officer for God's Love We Deliver in New York City. The organization was the first of its kind in the U.S. to prepare and deliver meals and nutritional services to hundreds of people living with HIV/AIDS daily, and was founded at the height of the epidemic here. In the latter part of her time there, she was part of the executive team that helped grow the operation from $5M to $10M and guide the addition of other critical diseases to the scope of direct services along the way.
Pam's background includes managing the financial offices of several community NGOs in the New York area, building a range of experience in financial systems and administrative operations. She is a graduate of Florida State and Rutgers Universities and currently oversees the financial and support functions of GBCHealth headquarters and regional offices.
Rebone serves as Office Administrator for the GBCHealth South Africa office. She comes to GBCHealth with several years of administrative experience in the private sector. Before beginning her career in administration, Rebone worked for a time as a journalist.
Working closely with the GBCHealth South Africa staff, Rebone helps keep the office running smoothly, providing general administrative support, meeting scheduling, communications and organization. She is also responsible for operations and facilities.
Rebone holds a degree in Journalism from Damelin Business College, and is in the process of earning a Communications degree from the University of South Africa.
As a Manager of GBCHealth's Global Events, Sancia Dalley coordinates and manages GBCHealth's multiple conferences, meetings, roundtables and other connections among members, government and community representatives, and other stakeholders around the world. In addition, Sancia advises a specific groups of member companies on the design and implementation of global health programs. Working across multiple industries - including travel & tourism, consumer products and financial services - Sancia works to expand and increase corporate involvement on global health through the convening of industry working groups and roundtables; collective action campaigns; and the development and dissemination of technical tools and corporate best practices. Sancia also serves as the focal point for GBCHealth's engagement in Latin America and the Caribbean.
Prior to joining GBCHealth, Sancia served as youth advisor on several political campaigns in Jamaica where she helped to increase youth voting rates in target constituencies across the country. Sancia earned a B.A in International Relations and French from Wesleyan College in Macon, Georgia. While there, Sancia served as President of Nu Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Psi Business Fraternity, spearheading activities for a local HIV/AIDS center that provided housing and employment for people living with HIV/AIDS.
As a Senior Manager, Shuma services a portfolio of accounts in the oil and gas, pharmaceutical, consulting and non-profit sectors. Additionally, she supports programs and partnerships in new content areas that fall under GBCHealth’s expanded mandate and manages ongoing initiatives related to tuberculosis and HIV and TB co-infection.
Previously, Shuma worked for the CDC, providing technical assistance to states and regional Centers for Excellence in the areas of tuberculosis, genomics, epidemiology and program evaluation. As a Peace Corps volunteer, she spent two years developing HIV/AIDS, malaria prevention and maternal/child health programs in a small, rural community in central Madagascar. She has also worked as an HIV/AIDS educator in New Delhi and Mumbai.
Shuma earned her MPH in International Health from Tulane University and her BA from Barnard College, Columbia University. She is excited to bring her years of public health experience at the international, federal, state and local levels to GBCHealth and to help advance its unique mission of multi-sectoral approaches to health and development.
Svetlana Kouzmina is a Grants Manager, in which capacity she is responsible for prospect donor research; supporting fundraising and grants management; assisting with special events, online giving, and building individual relationships in the United States, Russia and Ukraine. Svetlana has worked for over four years in the field of non-profit development in Russia and the United States. Her main interest is human development in Russia, especially children's and women's rights, public health, civic education and civil society empowerment. She has experience organizing and facilitating local workshops and seminars at the Ekaterinburg NGO "Forpost", as well as global conferences at the United Nations. Her commitment to the non-profit sector came as a result of her experience with EastWest Institute. Svetlana holds an M.A. in International Relations from New York University; and received her B.A. in Political Science from University of Bridgeport which included one-year exchange at Wesleyan University, CT and three years of law school in Russia. Svetlana is originally from Ekaterinburg, Russia and is truly devoted to improving lives of people in her home country.
Tatiana Grechanaia MD, PhD, is Director, Corporate Programs and Partnerships, Russia & CIS. In this capacity, she is responsible for support of business network - National Association “Business for Healthy Society”, she also leads advisory services for companies in Russia and CIS, oversees development and implementation of the workplace health promotion and education program HEALTH@WORK.
Since 2004 Tatiana worked as Senior Associate and Manager of HEALTH@WORK Program, Transatlantic Partners against AIDS (TPAA), Moscow office. She was responsible for development of workplace HIV/AIDS and Alcohol and Drug Abuse prevention training curriculum with accompanying materials as well as training implementation. Prior to joining the TPAA team, Tatiana was Russian Principal Investigator for two Russian-American Research Projects: Partners for Prevention and worked in collaboration with the NIAAA and the University of Minnesota on cultural adaptation and evaluation of adolescent alcohol use prevention programs. She also worked in collaboration with NIDA and University of Wisconsin as Russian Principal Investigator for Russian-American Research Project Russian Families And School Together (FAST) on cultural adaptation and pilot implementation of multi-families groups to prevent substance abuse, child abuse and neglect and was Senior Researcher of Moscow State University on Psychology and Education. Before that she had served as National Consultant for Russian Federation in ILO/UNDCP project "Mobilizing Enterprises and Workers to Prevent Substance Abuse in Central and Eastern Europe." In 1996-2000, Tatiana was a Deputy Director of the Institute for Prevention Research of the International Association against Drug Abuse and Trafficking and coordinated substance abuse epidemiological and prevention projects. Before that she worked as Leading Researcher for the State Research Center on Addictions, as a Senior Researcher for the All-Union Research Institute on General and Forensic Psychiatry and as a pediatrician for outpatient clinic in Moscow.
Tatiana has a degree of Medical Doctor from the Second Moscow State Medical Institute, a PhD from the All-Union Research Institute on General and Forensic Psychiatry, and postgraduate training in psychotherapy from the Institute on Psychotherapy and Clinical Psychology in Moscow. She is fluent in Russian, English and Ukrainian. She currently resides in Moscow.
Tatiana Golovanova is Program Associate for Projects and Events in the Policy Program. Her responsibilities include a full range of activities relating to organization and coordination of program events, as well as preparation of relevant follow-up materials and reports.
Prior to joining GBCHealth, Tatiana worked at the Society for the Development of Novosibirsk where she was responsible for conceptual development of the Preservation of Youth’s Health Project, assisted staff in project planning, monitoring and evaluation, as well as in empowerment of public associations of Russian Germans throughout Siberia and Far East. In 2004-2006, she served as an expert for the European Commission’s Prevention and Fight against HIV/AIDS (Stage I, Russian Federation) Project. Before that, she worked for over eight years at the Novosibirsk-based non-profit organization «Humanitarian Project».
She graduated from Novosibirsk State Pedagogical University’s Department of Psychology and Pre-School Pedagogics. Tatiana has authored 13 publications, 4 of which are manuals on organization of HIV/AIDS prevention and treatment programs.
As GBCHealth's financial controller Theresa focuses on testing and maintaining accuracy and categorization of data, generating regular and detailed financial reports, performing ongoing variance analysis in collaboration with all departments, and supporting other daily operations activities and projects.
Prior to joining GBCHealth, Theresa earned a BS in Computer Science from Rutgers and went on to earn a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accountancy from Baruch College. While at Financial Management Associates, she worked for numerous non-profit clients and completed components of the CPA exam, deepening her range of experience in transactional activity, audits and financial statements and analysis.
Tjipo enhances the GBCHealth Southern Africa membership network by working closely with member companies to develop a customized approach to the fight against HIV/AIDS, TB and Malaria. In this capacity, Tjipo services existing members, engages new companies, offers guidance on programmatic initiatives and helps forge public-private partnerships.
Tjipo Mothobi comes to GBCHealth with a strong background in strategic stakeholder relationship management, marketing and communication, fundraising and project management from her 15 year career as an executive in corporations, civil society and with the government. She has expertise executing team-driven process improvements to establish strategic stakeholder mapping agendas, and has managed relationships at the highest level-from executives to CEOs-in the private sector and at the Ministerial level in government.
An avid linguist, Tjipo speaks 12 languages, which helped her establish a consulting practice in 2004 focusing on social development.
Prior to joining GBCHealth, Tjipo served in senior positions with Cadbury as Corporate Affairs Director for Middle East and Africa and Go-Open Source Campaign, where she lead an innovative capacity development project funded by the Shuttleworth Foundation. Prior to her work at Go-Open Source, Tjipo was the Group Marketing Executive at NuMetro Entertainment Group, where she held direct marketing management responsibilities and technical advisory positions focused on the distribution and marketing of theatrical and home entertainment releases. Tjipo also served as Secretary General of Junior Chamber International (JCI) South Africa from 2003 - 2005.
Tjipo holds a BSc in Biochemistry as well as an MBA from Thames Valley University and currently serves as a visiting lecturer in the School of Computational and Applied Mathematics at the University of Witwatersrand.
Whitney Leigh White provides comprehensive administrative and project support for President/CEO John Tedstrom and the Executive Office and plays a key interface role with the GBCHealth Board of Directors and Corporate Advisory Board.
Prior to her current position, Whitney served as a Coordinator supporting both the Finance, Legal and Operations and the Membership and Advisory Services departments at GBCHealth. She also managed the 2011 Business Action on Health Awards, overseeing one of the largest and most competitive contests in the Awards’ history.
Whitney co-chairs the Fundraising Committee for Planned Parenthood of New York City’s all-volunteer Activist Council, where she helps organize multiple annual events to benefit PPNYC’s low-cost health centers, community programs and legislative work. She earned a M.St. in Women’s Studies at the University of Oxford, graduating with distinction for her dissertation on bodily autonomy and reproductive politics, and a B.A. in Cinema Studies and English & American Literature from New York University (NYU). Whitney has studied abroad at NYU programs in Berlin and London and has basic proficiency in French.
